DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

A Construction Project Engineer, or Commercial Construction Project Engineer, plans and oversees the building process of various construction projects from start to finish. Their duties include building and staying within the budget, retrieving the necessary permits to construct in certain communities and communicating the client’s goals for certain projects to the subcontractors and construction workers. They are the responsible team member to assure compliance with the specifications by all parties and assure contractors understand requirements.

Our team members work to understand the Voice of The Customer and work to deploy a plan that matches those goals. These Project Engineers are responsible for tracking program or project guidelines, assuring that lessons are captured, and feeding information back to the stakeholders to assure the project is progressing in a positive direction

POSITION DUTIES

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other workers in the same project

  • Identify and record scope gaps and assist in contractor procurement

  • Responsible for assisting in resolving any delays, emergencies and problems that can arise

  • Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements

  • Report project progress and budget to client

  • Explain contract and technical matter to others in a clear manner

  • Prepare budget and cost estimates, along with work timetables

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or a related field preferred; or 4 years of work experience in Project Engineering

  • At least 1 year of experience building and maintaining project schedules

  • At least 1 year of experience building and maintaining project budgets

  • Understanding of construction management, engineering processes and flow starting from engineering design, process mapping and engineering

  • Strong understanding of project costing and management concepts data structures

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficient with production planning systems

  • 1 year experience working at Mid-Level Planning, Scheduling and Project Controls

  • Beginner to Advanced use of Primavera P6 a must

  • Proficient in Project Controls

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must speak fluent English

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Thorough understanding of the business and supply chain

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
